Note: All prevalent NPCs are listed in alphabetical order (by first name). Beast companions are listed at the bottom of the page in a separate section.
Amelia-May Monday
She/her - The Innocent
The status of Amelia-May is still unknown. Though it is assumed she is somewhere within the bounds of Barovia's mists, as her husband was, this much is unclear. She stands a foot
shorter than both of her sons, and her long, hooked nose is something that Grayson gets from her. Her hair is blonde too, much like Grayson's, and she keeps it cut in a short pixie style.
Anghel Antonova
He/Him - The Lost
Anghel was the second child of Vasha and Matei. He went missing at the age of eight, and wasn't found up until recently, when his body was identified in Kazhan's Tower. He
now lies buried beside Jesse and Grayson's father on the fringes of Baratok.
Anthreaux
She/they/he - The Shining One, Terror of the Skies
Anthreaux shines brighter than any gemstone in Barovia, a crystal dragon of grand arcane prowess. She hunts for food not in the form of meat, but by way of Weave-imbued items. For
one who has lived so long, sustenance of the mortal variety just simply no longer satisfies. Having smelled the scent of a delightful buffet, Anthreaux has been trying to unearth
the trail left behind by the Torchbearers. Perhaps she will set a snare, or maybe it would be better to appear as someone close to them...
Aptori
They/them - The Celestial, Druid from a Distant World
Aptori has been no stranger to death. But blue veils... those are new. Finding themself transported to a world not too dissimilar to their own, they sought their allies. First, the
circle of stars. Aptori found them long-deceased. Next, they sought Cassidy, and to their luck, they found her. Aptori has been doing recon to assist in Cassidy's endeavors since. This
has included preventing the overreach of Strahd's and Natalya's forces, and aiding Ezmerelda's investigations.
Cassidy
She/they - The Rebellious, Rogue from a Distant World
Cassidy was torn through a veil and deposited in a world unfamiliar, and yet so similar. Fighting her way out from the reaches of Strahd's forces once more, Aptori found her
and together they managed to defend against Kazhan's siege on Krezk, alongside the forces of the Abbey of Saint Markovia. Following the event, she found a frightened Ezmerelda d'Avenir
carrying a familiar tome, and in protecting her from more of Strahd's forces, made an enemy of Krezk. Now, she hides out with Aptori, working alongside Ezmerelda to attempt to decipher
her not-father's tome, in hopes that they may end his reign.
Colton Monday
He/him - The Sacrifice
Colton was a man taken too soon. Father of Jesse and Grayson, his life was cut short in Barovia, and he was branded by arcane sigils, fated to bleed eternally. His blood was
thought to be a useful component of Kazhan's arcane dealings, as they had hoped he would be touched by the Raven Queen's magic as his children were. Unfortunately, his sacrifice was
in vain, for his blood was not divine. He now rests beside Anghel Antonova beyond the flooded bounds of Baratok.
Corrin
He/him - The Resurrected, Ranger from a Distant World
Corrin was found lying dead, charred beneath the rubble of a cart. Though now missing an arm, Corrin was revived and given a new heading; protect Harkus. For one so chaotic in nature,
he has been surprsingly somber as of late, and having faced the beyond, he will do what he can to prevent any of his friends from passing on without him.
Danya Ro'hwon
She/her - The Guardian
Danya runs an orphanage in Krezk, caring for all children that pass within the bounds of her halls. Recently, her and her wife even took it upon themselves to adopt a child of their
own: a small, but joyous, Tabitha. She tells Tabitha tales of the great adventurers that pass through the land of Barovia, shielding her from the reality; that Strahd always wins anyways.
Exethanter
??? - The Artist, Succumbed to the Madness of Oblivion
Exethanter serves with his whole being. He is slave to his arts, and slave to the immortal prison that binds his amber heart. Undeath has not treated him well, and his aimless wandering
will soon serve none at all.
Ezmerelda d'Avenir
She/Her - The Oracle, Tarot Reader, and The Raven's Prodigy
Ezmerelda was not desensitized to the world outside Barovia, and she has retained this wisdom within the fog. Unfortunately for her, there isn't a cure-all for the effects Barovia
has had on her. Her once human form now finds itself with fur and acute natural instinct, traits that mark her as a firbolg. Her arcane acuity under the protege of a currently missing
Madam Eva has left her with the skills to aid her friend Rudolph, of whom she knows the true nature of. Her studies on the Tome of Strahd, which she managed to thieve, will likely be
helpful going forward.
Harkus
He/him - The Changed
Harkus lived in Arizona for most of his life, and just recently found himself lost, pulled through dense fog to the land of Barovia. The process changed him, his features now that of
Firbolg appearance, and with him he brought some relics like his Nintendo DSi. Little is known about the group of children he was missing with, and even less is known about how he
could return. He carries one of Corrin's daggers for defense.
Ireena Kolyana
She/Her - The Hunted, Daughter of Barovia
Ireena's crimson jacket is cut of the same cloth as Strahd's cape. She keeps her collar raised, and her brown hair cropped short in a bob. Her eyes hold flecks
of red amidst their coffee brown, and she bears a striking resemblance to Strahd's former lover. Her constant running from Strahd has left her with scars and two handheld crossbows,
which she wields with surprising dexterity.
Ismark Kolyana
He/They - The Bodyguard, Warrior by Necessity
Ismark's fashion is understated. They wear ragged clothes that help them blend in with most of the Barovian folk. They carry a straight-haft silver spear, and wield it with
undeniable strength. Their eyes are a deep ocean blue, and their hair is dirtied blonde, chest length. They hide the scars on their neck, remnants of an injury that left them mute.
Kasimir Velikov
He/Him - The Punished, Prophecied to Aid
Kasimir is the brother of Vasha Antonova and Rosandra Velikovna, a shadar-kai with expertise of the martial variety. His actions from a prior event have left his sister, Rosandra,
captured and enthralled, while Kasimir lost both of his ears as punishment from Strahd. Now, he seeks to fight back any way he can.
Kazhan
She/they/he - The Lightningblade, General of Strahd's Armies
Kazhan was a distinct individual to place, with their electric blue hair glowing endlessly. Her skin was pale, like death itself, and her drow lineage had been long-forgotten in
undeath. Their ability to weave static into plasmatic blades made them a fierce warrior in combat, and even fiercer when riding their unruly mount, Lion.
Lorn
He/Him - The Potion Seller, Forged in Wars Long Past
Lorn is a traveling potion merchant of great age. His warforged shell is made of copper, completely oxidized and covered with moss and hanging vines. While his apothecary is
located in Barovia, his services often find themselves where they are most needed. Terrified of bugs and animals, he keeps to himself and sticks to the main roads. He tends to
overprepare for most of his journeys, as his only method of verbal communication is sequential beeps and boops (not ideal for negotiation or bartering).
Matei Antonova
He/Him - The Fabled Blacksmith, Father of Vallaki
Matei's smithing skills are unparalleled within the confines of the fog. His salt-and-pepper beard and bald head mark him as middle-aged, but his icy blue eyes hold hope all the same.
He lives a solitary life, though now that the former mayor of Vallaki has passed and he's taken the mantle, he has learned to be far more approachable. He's doing his best to be a better
father to Sorina now that the Antonova family has reunited (mostly).
Natalya Krezkova
She/Her - The Huntress, Immortal Mentor and Destined Betrayer
Standing tall, Natalya Krezkova is imposing with her pale skin and glaring orange eyes. Prior to her usurping act, she bore fair skin and brunette hair, but after the sparking of
the Goddess Fracture, her features darkened. Her chest-length hair grew black, and she sprouted wings akin to that of the Matron. Held in her hand, she bore the shadow staff-turned-scythe of
Nigel, the long-deceased cleric.
Nigel
He/Him - The Diviner
Strahd put his hand through Nigel's chest within the fog. Mars watched it happen. And yet, Natalya carried a perversion of his staff-turned-scythe like a relic.
Could Nigel still be alive? And why did Strahd need him dead, but not Mars?
Raven Queen
She/Her - The Matron of Ravens, Goddess of Fate, Cycles, and Death; Koroleva Voronov, Nerra
The Raven Queen radiates elegance. Her hair sits shoulder length, shining black, framed with flawless grace by small ravens wings that protrude from
her temples. Her face lies masked behind porcelain, with voids for eyes. Her fitted dress shows no skin, even with its holes in the back for her full-body wings.
The only things darker than the void behind her mask are the black lipstick she dons and the talon-like nails that she effortlessly flaunts.
Rosandra Velikovna
She/her - The Tormented
Rosandra was taken by Strahd and made to be a thrall, all as punishment for Kasimir's efforts against Strahd. Rosandra's whereabouts are unknown, and Kasimir presumes her dead.
Whether that is true remains to be seen.
Rudolph Van Richten (Rictavio)
He/Him - The Ringmaster, Hunter of Vampires
Rudolph uses the disguise of Rictavio to go unnoticed by the vampires that plague the land, all while he plots how best to take down the devil. Placing his faith in The Torchbearers, he wields his eldritch musket alongside them. His gray hair marks his age, but as grizzled as he is, he still packs a punch with the artillery he holds under his
brown coat.
Sorina Antonova
She/Her - Destined for More
Sorina bears the same icy blue eyes that her father, Matei, has. Her hair is kept short and curly, and she takes a lot after her mother, Vasha. Vasha usually has her glued to her hip.
Strahd Von Zarovich
He/Him - The Land, The Conqeuror, and The King; Devil of Barovia, and Darkness Incarnate
Strahd controls the room. He always has. He has presence, and it doesn't just come from his glistening onyx armor. His blood-red cape billows
on unseen wind, and his jet black, slicked-back hair shows no sign of greying. The wicked spikes on his pauldrons mirror the curve of his fangs, and
while he stands short for someone of elven lineage (6'0"), his sanguine eyes pierce all the same.
Tabitha Ro'hwon
She/her - The Protected
Tabitha was given to Danya when she was just a child. In regard to appearance, she takes heavily after her biological mother, but with black hair that curls like her father's. Her eyes are amber,
and she her mother's nose. She also has her mother's curiosity, often winding up with dirt covering her overalls from her time spent exploring the outdoors. Danya tells her tales of the
things her biological mother accomplished, and Yesper often reads her bedtime stories, tales of adventurers' exploits across the realm.
Vasha Antonova
She/Her - The Arcane Seamstress, Mother of Hope
Vasha stands tall, gaunt, and elegant. Her skin is dark, like most of her shadar-kai kin, as is her hair, which falls straight, just to the middle of her back. Her features are angular,
and her eyes are an ashy gray. Her hands are calloused from her work in sewing magical threads together, and she has hospitality for all that need it.
Yesper Ro'hwon
She/her - The Bookworm
Yesper is the wife of Danya, and the legal mother of Tabitha. She spends her time aiding with education at Danya's orphanage, while also tending to the Archivus Library as its owner.
A master of pen and paper, Yesper holds no capacity for the Weave, and yet can craft scrolls of unparalleled quality all the same.
Party Companions:
Archimedes
Raccoon - The Celestial Familiar
This refined raccoon claims to have seen Oblivion, and maybe he has, but that was yesterday... or maybe tomorrow. Now is now. And now is a good time for eating more of Mars' scrolls now that
Archimedes is inexplicably bound to him through the Weave.
Crescent
Horse - The Faithful Steed
Crescent was a wonderful mount for Natalya while she had use of such things. She was left on the fringes of Baratok when Natalya ascended, leaving the Torchbearers to bring her under
their companionship. Crescent and Mooneye have become good friends as of late, and Crescent has taken a specific liking to Grayson recently as well.
Lion
Horse - The Lightning Steed
Lion has lived eons of life beyond that of mortal bounds. First as pegasus, then as nightmare. Throughout it all, Lion has been more... sentient than others of its kind. This was something
Kazhan never learned luckily, and when Lion sensed things were going awry with Kazhan's plans, he simply up and left. Now, Lion has taken a liking to someone he sees promise in: Ezmerelda
d'Avenir. Though quite the risk, if Ezemerelda succeeds in her plans of stopping Strahd, Lion will go on to live for another millenia.
Mooneye
Horse - The Loyal Steed
Mooneye is the third Monday. Loyal as ever to Jesse's call, they've been both a beast of burden and a beast of war for the Torchbearers. Recently, Mooneye has made some new friends in Crescent
and the other members of the Torchbearers.
Shrub Von Soilvitch
Plant - Catholic Probably?
This plant can talk. And walk. And sleep. And annoy people. And it goes to mass sometimes? But only with the cattails by the flooded cathedral in Baratok.
